m.a.d. furniture design has established its North American headquarters in Minneapolis.

Founded in Hong Kong by long-time friends, Matt Cole and Dan Given, m.a.d. furniture design is known worldwide for designing and developing furniture at an accessible price point for home, work and hospitality environments.

“We're beyond thrilled to finally announce the opening of our North American headquarters in Minneapolis," said Cole, managing director." From what started over a couple of beers in Hong Kong has grown into an international organization that ships to over 20 countries around the world. With this move, we are excited to have ownership over the distribution of the m.a.d. collection to the U.S., Canada and Mexico and the opportunity to service our clients directly.”

Peder Nyhus and Sara Moore will lead the North American m.a.d headquarters. A well-rounded assortment of products are available to the North American market for the first time, including seating, occasional tables, desks and outdoor pieces in several finish options that are in stock and ready to ship.

Additionally, clients and customers will have access to live inventory, spec sheets, product photography, 3D images and models through the new online store and design professional client portal. m.a.d. pieces are created by the design team in Chicago and engineered to meet or exceed contract level standards. Before shipping to the U.S., they are tested independently at the m.a.d. lab, the company's product development and testing facility in Southern China-all of this with the intention of making original, affordable design more accessible to the global market.

All m.a.d. furniture design factories are audited to international supply chain standards to ensure compliance for health and safety standards, labor practices and corporate social responsibility.

With prices starting at $269 for plywood chairs to $689 for top grain leather upholstered chairs., the m.a.d. collection features dining chairs and tables, barstools, lounge chairs, accent tables and lighting that's geared toward the home, work and hospitality environments. The assortment includes more than 40 originally designed products made from materials such as powder-coated steel, molded plywood, aluminum, solid and veneered wood sand plastic.

"m.a.d. and its customer base are growing quickly across the world, and our new headquarters will help us expand even faster while we continue to offer high quality products and customer service, said Dan Given, technical director of m.a.d. furniture design." All of our pieces hold to the idea of a classically modern aesthetic, where form is an expression of material, structure and function.

The collection will continue to feature minimal products that are at once simple but compelling, physically and stylistically built to last."
